Agios Spyridonas of Peritheia: Beach and informal place name for a tourist resort in the settlement of Peritheia

A popular beach in northern Corfu: Agios Spyridonas Peritheia is an organized sandy beach with shallow and warm waters in northern Corfu, in the settlement of Peritheia, which belongs to the municipality of Thinali.

Peritheia settlement consists of two regions: Ano and Kato Peritheia, of which only Kato is now inhabited. Other settlements located close to Peritheia are Kassiopi, Acharavi, and Almyros.

Historical monument: Ano Peritheia (or Old Peritheia) is a historical monument of architectural interest, and is no longer inhabited. While Kato Peritheia is inhabited and features 12 settlements.

Natural “monument”: Peritheia, in addition to the aforementioned protected historic settlement, also has a protected area (Natura), the Antinioti lagoon, which is accessible via a small bridge leading to a small facing island, near the beach of Agios Spyridon Peritheos, which is called Nissos.

Other beaches and attractions: Apart from the beach of Agios Spyridon, Peritheia has a plethora of other beaches, organized or free, some of which are the beaches of Gialiskari and Kalamaki. In the area, there is also the church Theotokos (Virgin).

Events: Every August, on the 7th of the month, on the beach of Agios Spyridon takes place the Varkarola custom, a festive event with traditional music and dance, which combines elements from Christianity and the historical mythology of Homer!

Peritheia tourist resort: Near and around the beach of Agios Spyridon, a remarkable tourist resort has been developed in the last decade, featuring impressive villas, a large hotel complex, modern apartment complexes, as well as restaurants, bars, beach bars and taverns.
Thus, referring to Agios Spyridon Peritheia, we might as well mean the wider location around the beach (where the tourist resort has been developed), not only the beach per se.
In this tourist resort is where Pyramid City is located, featuring a set of luxury villas and value-for-money apartments, as well as food-coffee-fun facilities and activities for children!

Port for boats: At a distance of 8 km, there is the port of Kassiopi where boats and yachts can moor, for more private arrivals, within walking distance of the luxury accommodations we have in North Corfu.

Market: Agios Spyridonas Peritheia as a developed tourist resort offers the visitor a great vacation package. Here you can find everything, from mini markets, taverns, restaurants, bar and beach bar to amusement park (playground) and an equestrian park.
